NORTHERN CIRCUIT

ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

It is between the famous two Volcanic peaks of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. It covers about 137 sq kms. Formerly called NGURDOTO CRATER
NATIONAL PARK, this is the only park which is free of Lions, except for large Leopards, Black Colobous Monkey and the Birdlife is so unique. It also has seven
beautiful lakes which supports resident and migrant Zebra, Buffaloes, Giraffe, Flamingos etc, it is the closest National Park to Arusha town, approximately 60 kms and it is only 40 minutes drive. Mount Meru which is about 4,566 meters high. Walking safari around and in the crater can be arranged.

 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire National Park was named after the river Tarangire, which is the main source of water within the Park. With very large concentration of Elephants, Buffaloes, Zebras, Waterbuck. It is also famous for its tree climbing Python and the Birdlife is spectacular. With an area of 2,600 sq kms, Tarangire lies to the southern part of Maasai land plains. It is 118 kms Southwest of Arusha. Day trips to Maasai and Barabaig bomas can be arranged.

LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

It a very famous for its tree climbing Lions. It is about 330sq kms, of which 230 sq kms is covered by the Lake when water are high. The park has a different variety of habitats such as the acacia woodlands, ground water forest, the rift valley wall stretches about 50 kms along the base and about 600 meters long escarpment as well as hot springs. All of this to support the large number of different species. It was first gazetted to be a National Park in 1960. It is only 125 kms west of Arusha.

MOUNT KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK

It is the highest mountain in Africa and second in the world after Mountain Everest. Mount Kilimanjaro Park, was gazetted to be a park in 1973 in order to preserve the outstanding scenic features and its Flora and Fauna. It is also a free-standing mountain in the world with one of the largest Volcanoes ever erupted through the earth’s crust. It is about 5,895 meters above sea level.

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Serengeti comes from the Maasai word ‘siringeti’means ENDLESS PLAINS. It is covering about 14,763 sq kms. With the size of Switzerland, it is the largest Wildlife sanctuary in the world. Serengeti is the only place in the world where the natural immigration of thousand of Wildebeest takes place whereas the Wildebeest calves more than 8,000 daily before the 1,000 kms pilgrimage starts. It was gazetted to be a National Park in 1951 and then in 1981 it was accepted the World Heritage Convention as a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. It is 335 km from Arusha and bordering to the west by the famous Lake Victoria. Hot air balloon safari, Maasai rock paintings and musical rocks can be arranged according to your wish.

NGORONGORO CRATER

Ngorongoro Crater is one of very few places in East Africa where you can be guaranteed to sight the very rare Black Rhino in their natural habitats. Historically about 2 millions years ago, Ngorongoro peak towered almost as high as Mount Kilimanjaro. By then they were the highest mountains in Africa. Then the Ngorongoro volcanic peak collapsed and form a CALDERA, the largest unbroken and unfolded in the world today. In fact it is the 8th wonder of the world. It is about 8,300 sq kms in size. From one end to the other it is 13 kms. Walking safari, Maasai Boma Cultural, Oldvuai Gorge, Oldoinyo Lengai the only active volcanic mountain.

RUBONDO NATIONAL PARK

Rubondo National Park is an island of wildlife floating in Africa's largest lake, Lake Victoria north west of Tanzania. Covering about 240 sq kms, this is the only National Park where you can also do Nile Perch and Tilapia fishing as well as beach holiday. Birdlife is also incredible. Huge Crocodiles can be seen sun bathing.

SOUTHERN CIRCUIT

RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

It is situated on the southern high-lands region of Tanzania. The second largest National Park in Tanzania after Serengeti. Covering an area 12,950 sq kms. Ruaha is commonly famous for its large herds of Buffalo, Greater Kudu, huge Crocodiles, Southern Impala, the largest population of Elephant etc. The Birdlife is so unique.

MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Mikumi National Park is the third largest park in Tanzania covers an area of 3,230 sq kms. It is on the high way from Dar es salaam to Zambia. Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Zebra to name few are always seen, the birdlife is incredible.

UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK

It is a very new National Park in Tanzania. Bordering with the Great Ruaha River to the north and the Mikumi-Ifakara road to the east. Covers an area of 1,900 sq kms. Famous for very rare birdlife.

SELOUS GAME RESERVE

Selous Game Reserve was named after a very famous Hunter explorer Fredrick Countenary Selous. With an area of 45,000 sq kms which makes it to be the largest uninhabited protected area in Africa. Large herds of Elephants, Buffalo, Impala, Nyasaland Wildebeest Lichtenstein Hartebeest, Crocodiles, Lions are sighted most of the time.

WESTERN CIRCUIT

KATAVI NATIONAL PARK

This park has the highest population of Crocodiles, in Tanzania. It main vegetation is Miombo woodland and scattered acacia trees, especially around lake Chada. Katavi National Park is the only park which has not being disturbed like other parks, it is only 40 kms from Mpanda town. Lots of different birds can be sighted, Buffalloes, Hippo, Sable, Roan antelope etc.

MAHALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

This is the park you can see Chimpanzee in their natural habitat. It is right on a peninsula that cuts out into a very famous Lake Tanganyika. (Deepest lake in the world). The Mahale Mountain chain runs from North to West across the middle of the park. The highest peak is about 2,462 meters above sea level. It is only 120 kms south of Kigoma.

GOMBE STREAM NATIONAL PARK

This is a park with unique features and attractions. It is right on the shore of Lake Tanganyika, about 16 kms north of Kigoma town. It is a park without any road. All the time you will have to walk and experience the undisturbed nature. It is a mountainous country with an area of 52 sq kms. It is another place where you can
trek Chimpanzee, swimming and snorkeling and also you can visit the historical site of Henry Stanley and very famous Dr. Livingstone.
